I'm Martin Petkov — an entrepreneur, builder, and product visionary, and one of the owners of Effortel, where I serve as Chief Operations Officer. Effortel helps mobile operators and brands launch and run mobile services around the world.
My work has taken me across the globe. I began in the early days of the commercial internet in Bulgaria, at BOL.BG — Sofia's first commercial internet operator — then worked with the German company Semantec and helped build GLOBUL, the Bulgarian mobile operator. From there the journey turned international: KPN Group Belgium, Meteor Mobile in Ireland, Wataniya Mobile in Palestine, and ventures in Angola and France, the latter with Alcatel-Lucent. Along the way I founded my own consultancy, Simpligrity — before Effortel.
I've lived in many places and feel at home in many languages — Bulgarian, Russian, English, and the languages of the Balkans. Wherever the work has taken me, family has come too: I'm a proud father of five.
Above all, I try to stay a humble human being. I look back on a tremendous journey and give thanks to God for every step of it. Alongside the work, I've always loved to play with words — and that's what this little corner of the web is for.
